祝贺30位美高优秀学子加入NHS美国国家荣誉学者学会！

去年那场隆重而又庄严的NHS入会仪式让大家开始认识并了解NHS(National Honor Society美国国家荣誉学者学会),今年NHS又如约向我们30位优秀的青岛为明学子发出入会邀请，值得一提的是，除了授予新会员绶带和证书以外，第二和第三年的会员还得到了荣誉奖牌和Pendant Stole的授予！
青岛为明学校国际部作为美国索斯兰学校直属青岛校区，美高索斯兰的孩子们通过Southlands Chapter加入到NHS，和美国主校的同学们共享这份荣光！
01 什么是NHS？
National Honor Society美国国家荣誉学者学会 (简称NHS)，是美国一个全国性的高中社团，意在表彰在学业成绩、领导才能、社区服务及道德品质均有突出表现的10至12年级学生。
国家荣誉社团的加入是对个人学业成绩的高度肯定，同时也是为获得高额奖学金的激励。国家荣誉社团提供与其校园里不同学术领域的大一学生会面的机会，从而与他们共创优异的学业成绩。会员可以申请全国或是所在分社团提供的奖学金。
美国初中高中校长联合会(National Association of Secondary School Principals，简称NASSP) 在1921年正式创立这个团体，至今NHS在美国50个州、加拿大及世界各地都有了分会，有超过100万的学生参与到NHS的项目中。
02 NHS的入会资格有哪些？
根据该协会的创办宣言，所有的NHS分会都应该坚持以下宗旨：✔ 鼓励学生的学习热情
—— Scholarship
✔ 激发学生服务社会的意愿—— Service ✔ 培养学生的领导才能
—— Leadership
✔ 促进青少年学生形成优秀的道德品质
—— Character
这些宗旨也是该协会决定成员资格标准的依据。因此入选的学生必须在学业成绩、领导才能、社区服务及道德品质等各方面都全面发展，表现出众。各地的分会组织首先依据学生的在校成绩挑选候选人，并对这些成绩优秀的学生进行一系列各方面的考察和筛选，最后由分会的一个五人教师的议团投票决定是否入选。

仪式感满满的会场，新成员们在注册薄上庄重的签上了名字，国际部学术主任Neil Kimmet和美高项目主任Jessica Liu为他们披上绶带，在接过国际部校长Alice Zhao颁发的荣誉证书后，他们成为了正式的NHS会员！
成员们也在台上与老师和同学们分享了自己的人生格言，同时Alice校长也对他们寄予了期望与祝福：
Good afternoon everyone！
Congratulations again to the NHS inductees!
National Honor Society is a national high school society in the United States that honors students in grades 10 through 12 who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement, leadership, community service, and moral character.
It was founded in 1921 by the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP), with its first chapter in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Today, NHS has chapters in all 50 states, Canada, and around the world, with more than 1 million students participating in NHS programs.
According to its founding manifesto, all NHS chapters should adhere to the following objectives:
✔ Encourage students' enthusiasm for learning;
✔ Inspire students' willingness to serve the society;
✔ Develop students' leadership skills;
✔ Promote young students to form excellent moral character;
These purposes are also the basis for determining the membership of the Association. The selected students must be well-rounded and outstanding in academic achievement, leadership, community service and moral character.
NHS chapter cannot be applied for independently by an individual and must be made through the NHS chapter of their own high school. Qingdao Weiming School ISD as Southlands Schools International Qingdao campus, SSI students apply to join the NHS through the Southlands Chapter, and share this honor with the students of the Los Angeles main Campus of Southlands.
As a Southlands student, becoming a member of NHS will undoubtedly prove the comprehensive ability to the world's top universities. As a new generation in the era of globalization, no matter where you are in the future, you will be more recognized and honored by official organizations at every stage, and your future will be brighter and more promising!
In December, we are going through some changes. There are some unofficial words like "the end of the story", personally I am not sure if it is. But one thing is true: As the tide of time rolls on, the only constant is the change itself. But no matter how the world changes, some things remain the same. For example, loyalty to love and family members, the pursuit of knowledge, the commitment to faith and the responsibility of the mission.
In December, Our ISD students initiated an activity of poverty alleviation and agricultural aid, helping to sell red rice in the poor mountainous area of Honghe, Yunnan province. You helped design posters, worked on sales strategies and advertising plan. You have carefully packed the rice and sent them to every teacher and student who offered their love. Your care and love to the disadvantaged groups in society has been put into actions and passed on around the world. WE CARE AND LOVE, because we all know: We are all lucky. There are many people in this world, not as lucky as us, to make a living, they have done their utmost. Therefore, let us be the light in their lives, with our love, send them one or more smart boards, so that they can also enjoy the beauty and advancement of "cloud classroom"!
In December, we still have a lot to look forward to. We are looking forward to the external examination results of SACE 20, the university offers of all the graduates, and the return to normal life as soon as possible. We are looking forward to all of us approaching the light, following the light, becoming the light and spreading the light!

NHS的资格不可由个人独立申请，必须通过自己所在高中的NHS分部进行申请。青岛为明学校国际部作为美国索斯兰学校直属青岛校区，美高索斯兰的学生们通过Southlands Chapter申请加入到NHS，和美国主校的同学们共享这份荣光！
作为美高学子，成为NHS会员，无疑会向世界顶级大学证明自己的综合能力。作为全球化成员，未来无论在世界哪个地方发展，优秀的你拥有每个阶段官方机构肯定，你们未来的路一定走得更加扎实、更加精彩！
12月，我们正在经历着一些改变，不知道是不是非官方说法“全剧终”，但是有一个真理是：时代的浪潮滚滚向前，唯一不变的是变化本身。但无论这个世界如何变化，人间总有一些东西永恒不变。比如对感情的忠贞，对知识的探求，对信仰的坚守，对使命的担当。
12月，咱们国际部的孩子们开展扶贫助农活动，帮助云南红河贫困山区销售红米。你们参与设计宣传海报、商讨销售策略和广告文案。你们精心打包，送给每一个献爱心的老师和同学们。你们关注社会弱势群体，将内心对世界的关爱用实际行动传递下去。因为我们知道：我们在座的师生们都是幸运的，这个世界上还有很多人，没有我们幸运，他们只是活着，就已经倾尽了全力。所以，让我们成为他们生命中的那一束光，用我们的爱心，送给他们一台或者更多台电子教学一体机，让他们也能享受“云课堂”的美好！
12月，我们还有很多期待，我们期待澳高20的高考成绩，期待国际部23届所有毕业生的大学录取，期待我们能尽快回归正常的生活，期待我们所有人靠近光、追随光、成为光、散发光！
